Archer Aviation (NYSE: ACHR) will now be able to train and qualify pilots at is new training academy since it received its Part 141 certificate from the FAA. The Part 141 certification, will come in handy along with the Part 142 certification that Archer has currently applied for to enable Archer to proceed with its air taxi services. In addition to the Part 141 certification, Archer also holds a Part 135 (Air Carrier & Operator) Certificate and a Part 145 (Repair Station Operators) certificate.

The 141 certification was presented to Archer Aviation by the FAA Manager at the San Jose Flight Standards District Office Thom Holden, and David Pease, who is an FAA Aviation Safety Inspector during a ceremony at Archer’s flight test facility in Salinas, CA. The certificate was accepted on Archer’s behalf by the Chief Operating Officer of UAM, Tom Anderson, and the Chief People Officer, Tosha Perkins.

This accomplishment of receiving Part 141 certification comes at a time of great success for Archer Aviation which has recently received $300 million in capital from the creation and sale of stock, in which a significant part of the capital raised came from BlackRock-managed funds.

“Thanks to the hard work of the Archer team and the FAA, Archer now has its Part 141 certificate in hand—yet another step towards our commercial launch. I look forward to seeing the results of this effort in the form of talented pilots who can one day be at the controls of our Midnight aircraft. The FAA continues to be an invaluable partner as we work together toward the safe entry of air taxis into the national airspace,” Tom Anderson – Chief Operating Officer, UAM at Archer Aviation
