{"id":819,"date":"2024-12-25T02:31:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-25T02:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vtolbuzz.com\/?p=819"},"modified":"2025-02-22T02:43:07","modified_gmt":"2025-02-22T02:43:07","slug":"liliums-christmas-lights-turn-on-bright-after-rescue-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vtolbuzz.com\/index.php\/2024\/12\/25\/liliums-christmas-lights-turn-on-bright-after-rescue-deal\/","title":{"rendered":"Lilium&#8217;s Christmas lights turn back on brighter than ever after rescue deal"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Christmas Lights will turn on bright at <strong>Lilium<\/strong> after Munich-based <strong>MUC Mobile Uplift Corporation GmbH<\/strong> agreed to purchase the operating assets of the subsidiaries <strong>Lilium GmbH<\/strong> and <strong>Lilium eAircraft GmbH<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this asset purchase agreement which is planned to close in <strong>early January 2025<\/strong>, the subsidiaries will have the financial resources to continue their business operations. \u202fThe funds from the asset sale of the subsidiaries will not be transferred to <strong>Lilium N.V<\/strong>. and rather be distributed under German Insolvency Law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>We are very pleased to announce the signing of an investment agreement with a very experienced consortium of investors, which is a major breakthrough. Deal closing at the beginning of January will allow us to restart our business. &#8211; Lilium CEO Klaus Roewe<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>KPMG<\/strong> guided Merger and Acquisition process&nbsp;resulted in talks and negotiations with potential investors that have expressed interested in the assets of the Lilium subsidiaries. <strong>MUC Mobile Uplift Corporation GmbH<\/strong> being the purchaser of these assets, will bring a bright future for the coming new year and beyond. <strong>Mobile Uplift Corporation GmbH<\/strong> plans to &#8220;immediately&#8221; employ the remaining Lilium employees whose contracts were terminated under the requirements of German law, once the transaction has been closed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Registered in November 2024, <strong>MUC Mobile Uplift Corporation GmbH<\/strong> is an investment consortium with leaders from across Europe and North America. The <strong>CEO<\/strong> is <strong>Philipp Schoeller<\/strong>, who also is the Founding Partner of <strong>General Capital Group<\/strong> <strong>(GenCAP)<\/strong>. In 2007 Schoeller led an unsuccessful takeover of German tire manufacturer <strong>Continental AG<\/strong>, with <strong>Goldman Sachs<\/strong> and <strong>Bain Capital<\/strong>. The previous year, along with US-based <strong>Apollo Management<\/strong>, and UK-based <strong>BC Partners<\/strong>, it sought a takeover of <strong>Deutsche Telekom<\/strong>.
