Sydney, Australia \u2014 June 2, 2025<\/strong> \u2014 Two Australian companies at the forefront of hydrogen-powered aviation have successfully registered a family of liquid hydrogen tanks that will pave the way for zero-emission flights across the country. This milestone marks a significant step forward in the development of sustainable aviation technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AMSL Aero<\/strong> and Stralis Aircraft<\/strong> have partnered with BOC Australia<\/strong> to register the tanks, known as “Dewar vessels,”<\/strong> which will be used to store and transport liquid hydrogen to fuel aircraft. These tanks work similarly to large-scale thermos flasks, maintaining a vacuum to insulate the super-cold liquid hydrogen required for the next generation of eco-friendly aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The registration of these Dewar vessels, the first of their kind to arrive in Australia, is crucial for the future of hydrogen-powered aviation. With a capacity of 30 kg per vessel, they will be used to transport liquid hydrogen from production plants directly to aircraft for refuelling, enabling zero-emission flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
